📌 Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open the Actions Panel

  • Go to Window > Actions
  • The Actions panel will appear on the right side.

2. Create a New Action

  1. Click the folder icon if you want to create a new Action Set (optional).
  2. Click the New Action icon (looks like a plus ➕).
  3. Give your action a name (example: “Resize & Sharpen”).
  4. Choose:

  • Set (where the action is saved)
  • Function Key (optional shortcut)
  • Color (helps identify actions in button mode)
  • Click Record.

3. Start Recording

Once recording starts:

  • Any step you perform in Photoshop will be saved in the action.
  • Examples:

    • Resize image
    • Apply filters
    • Adjust colors/levels
    • Add layers/effects
    • Save files
⚠️ Note: Photoshop records operations, not mouse movements.

4. Stop Recording

When finished:
  • Click the Stop button (square icon) at the bottom of the Actions panel.
Your action is now saved!

🎬 How to Use (Play) the Action

  1. Select the action in the Actions panel.
  2. Click the Play button (►) at the bottom.
  3. Photoshop will automatically perform all the recorded steps.
